Sarah: Your messages are always simple but meaningful and never fail to resonate with me. How do you distill your message so beautifully?
Thank you, Sarah, you are very kind.
I’ve been writing the Word from Pete for coming up to twenty years. Sometimes weekly, sometimes fortnightly, but over that period I’ve never stopped. So I’ve spent a long time working on my craft, and finding my voice.
I try to write like I speak.
I fight it very hard to stick to one point per blog. I found this a little bit more of a challenge in the current format where I’m answering questions, but I’m very conscious of it. And I’ll often cull my blogs.
And finally, I have a fabulous editor, my wife Trish. She can spend as much time editing as I spent writing, and she always makes them better. And two or three times a year we’ll axe a blog completely. So they are definitely better for what gets cut, and for the ones that you never see.
