My friend Kate put me onto this great podcast episode where Tim Ferris is talking to LeBron and his trainer, Mike Mancias.
LeBron James is currently giving Michael Jordan a shake for the title of the greatest male basketball player in history. He's the world’s first billion-dollar athlete, and he spends more than a million dollars a year looking after his body.
In the interview, they kept coming back to consistency and recovery. Consistent training rather than hard training. And a huge focus on recovery. Sleep, nutrition, and hydration.
It makes sense that LeBron James takes that kind of care of his body and his mojo.
And I reckon it makes sense that you do too. Perhaps you don’t have a spare million dollars a year to spend on a personal nutritionist to take with you everywhere and your own hyperbaric chamber.
But if you consider your work to be as important (or more) as playing basketball, and if your clients deserve it, it might be worth paying a little more attention to your recovery. To your sleep, nutrition, and hydration. And of course, to your mojo.
