It’s not so much that I have a problem with goals that are specific, measurable, achievable etc etc. Hell, my whole Implementation book is about projects that matter … and it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to say projects that matter are simply SMART goals in another guise.
I'm just not such a fan of the practice of forcing thinking into a naff acronym. They’ve always annoyed me, and I was never sure why.
But as they say, don’t knock it until you’ve tried it, so I’ve come up with my very own.
I think there is a very good reason Matt didn’t include contrived acronyms in his IP Snapshot (pink sheet) structure. Thank you Matt.
A good model on the other hand, that is a thing of beauty…
