Happy new year!
A new year is always an opportunity for a bit of a reset … and I think this new year is that on steroids. It’s not just a new year, it’s also a new decade. And we’re in the middle of a global pandemic.
So, what’s the big opportunity in all of this? To do a much bigger reset on life.
For most of us 2020 took lots of things out of our lives. Now we get to be conscious about what we put back in.
There is a natural tendency to ratchet up our lifestyle (how we spend our money) and our activities (how we spend our time). Very easy to add new things in… harder to take them out. Over time we tend to spend more on our holidays, cars, houses, wardrobes, eating out, etc etc.
But at this moment in time it’s easier than it has ever been to examine how we spend our time and money, and design something new. Perhaps something simpler.
