On the weekend Novak Djokovic won the French Open.
Afterwards he said, “I just tried to stay in the present and stick to the tactics and the routines that make me concentrate only on the next point and it worked. It doesn't always work but it worked very well here.”
Fair to say it mostly works pretty well.
It’s Djokovic’s 23rd grand slam … which is pretty significant in the tennis world. It moves him ahead of Federer and Nadal. He is now the most successful player in men’s tennis ever.
And his primary focus in the match was staying in the present moment. Not worrying about what just happened. Not anticipating what’s happening next. Just being in this moment.
Pretty good advice if you want to be a great tennis player.
And pretty good advice for what we want in our life too.
