On being kind whenever possible

Last week Ami had a pretty rough Thursday night. She had a 24-hour bug and was throwing up every 20–30 minutes until about 2:30am.

Which meant I didn’t get that much sleep, and had a bit of a hard Friday. I was tired all day, and quite a bit foggy. When I filled up the car with petrol, I got back in the car and put my seat belt on before I realised I hadn’t paid. It was that kind of day.

It reminded me of what my friend Lisa says … she assumes that everyone has at least one hard thing going on in their life. I love that.

Even if someone says they’re doing fine, chances are they have something tough they’re dealing with.

So be kind.

When someone cuts you off, relax. Who knows what else is happening in their life.

As the Dalai Lama says, “Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible.”
